Sustainability Projects

We are a travel and tourism consultancy committed to sustainable and innovative solutions that are aimed to keep our planet green. Through strategic partnerships, we help shape a more responsible and regenerative tourism industry.

We are committed to preserving the environments wherein we travel

By travelling with us, you contribute to sustainable tourism practices and make a positive difference. Your journey helps support responsible travel that respects local communities and protects natural ecosystems.

We donate a portion of our proceeds and actively collaborate with a range of specialised partners — including environmental organisations, and community development groups — to develop and implement practical solutions for pressing environmental issues and social challenges.

From supporting conservation efforts and reducing carbon footprints to empowering vulnerable communities, your choice to travel with us has a lasting impact.

We work together with different sustainability and regenerative projects

Rewilding Spain

At Trek and Ride, we believe that every step, every pedal stroke and every designed route can become an act of regeneration. Our collaboration with Rewilding Spain, the Spanish foundation that promotes the renaturalization – or “rewilding” – of Iberian ecosystems, stems from a shared dream: to give nature back its voice, its strength and its own harmony.

In the heart of the Sistema Ibérico Sur – encompassing the Serranía de Cuenca, the Alto Tajo and Montes Universales – Rewilding Spain is carrying out a true ecological revolution on 850,000 hectares: reintroducing Przewalski’s horses, black vultures, deer eighties and converting abandoned landscapes into resilient and vibrant ecosystems.

We, Trek and Ride, channel this transformation through ad hoc designed hiking and biking trails in these regenerating areas.

Cycling and hiking towards a wild future: Trek and Ride + Rewilding Spain

Economic and social reinforcement

Each route designed generates tourist flow to towns such as Mazarete, Cuenca or Peralejos de las Truchas, promoting rural lodging, restaurants and local guides.

Education on the road

Participants discover firsthand why Przewalski’s horses help reduce fire risk, or how forest restoration facilitates the return of black vultures and raven widows.

Active conservation outreach

We turn each experience into a platform to tell rewilding stories, making Rewilding Spain’s achievements visible and raising awareness among travelers and communities.

CREAF, the Center for Applied Ecology and Forestry Reflection

From the heart of its scientific stations such as Montseny, Prades or Can Balasc, CREAF has been monitoring forests, soils and pollinators for decades, understanding the key dynamics that sustain life in our forests.

Tourism can be part of the solution

Our direct experience in the field, shared with hundreds of travelers every year, becomes a living platform to convey CREAF’s messages. Because we understand that conservation needs more than just data: it needs stories, human connections, emotion. And that’s where responsible tourism can make a real difference.

Our link with CREAF is not simply philanthropic: it is an active commitment, an alliance built on a passion for nature. Together we demonstrate that science, action and communication can converge to protect the territory that is everyone’s identity. We plant the seeds of change: each more resilient forest, each better protected species and each more aware citizen is the fruit of this shared work.

We act as ambassadors, amplifying their voice and bringing their message to society

With our financial contributions, we support projects such as PIPOL (diagnosis of wild pollinators), studies on forest adaptation to climate change and ecological networks that reveal the complexity of the relationships between species.

While CREAF studies Mediterranean ecosystems, from their soils to their summits, we pedal and walk them together with conscious travelers who are looking for much more than beautiful landscapes. Each route we design – through resilient forests, biodiverse valleys or historic trails – becomes an opportunity to raise awareness, educate and excite.

We create bridges between

CREAF’s scientific knowledge and the direct experience of travelers.

Forest Management

We disseminate advances in intelligent forest management to combat droughts, fires and biodiversity loss.

Inspiration and purpose

Together we demonstrate that science, action and communication can converge to protect the territory that is everyone’s identity.

Cork Experience

“Cork Experience: “Cork: a world waiting to be discovered”” is a bold, innovative initiative led by RETECORK and partners to design sustainable tourism products centered around cork. Presenting a national cork route and fourteen local routes, it weaves together digital packages, experiential workshops, craft, art, and traditional cork-making — all aimed at celebrating and preserving cork oak ecosystems while enriching cultural and natural heritage.

How does Trek & Ride fit in?

Trek & Ride is proud to be one of the six partners involved in this eco-driven venture. We’ve developed a curated range of Cork Experience–branded products — from guided routes to immersive activities — that not only showcase the beauty of cork territories but also deliver real benefits. By choosing a Cork Experience product through us, you’re supporting the conservation of cork oak forests, the livelihoods of rural communities, and the preservation of rich artisanal traditions.
