Discover the surreal beauty of Catalonia through the eyes of Salvador Dalí on this unique 6-night cycling journey. Over five leisurely cycling days, you’ll explore the enchanting landscapes that inspired one of the world’s most iconic artists—riding quiet country roads, coastal paths, and vineyard trails that connect Dalí’s most cherished places.
From the historic streets of Girona to the glittering coves of the Costa Brava, this tour is a perfect blend of culture, nature, and fine living. Along the way, you’ll visit the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the dreamlike castle of Púbol, and his coastal retreat in Port Lligat near Cadaqués. You’ll ride through rolling vineyards, olive groves, medieval villages, and coastal nature reserves, all while savoring the rich culinary heritage of Empordà.
Highlights include a scenic boat transfer along the Costa Brava, a specially curated Dalí experience dinner, and a final celebratory meal at Hotel Duran, a place Dalí himself frequented. Whether you’re a lover of art, cycling, or simply unforgettable travel, this immersive journey through Dalí’s world promises a vibrant and elegant escape into Catalonia’s cultural soul.
Arrival at Girona and welcome meeting with our guide. We will hold the orientation session, where your bike will be specially fitted for you and you’ll be presented with all the documentation and things you need for your trip. After the session, it is time to take a walk in the historic town center of Girona.
Distance: 36 km You cycle out of Girona via cycle paths into the countryside, following the river Ter. Along tiny medieval villages, sunflower fields and olive groves, you will arrive at the village of Pubol, where you will visit the castle of Dali, where a big collection of his and Gala’s works can be found inside the castle and the garden. Here you can also visit Gala’s grave. Only 10 km from Pubol to your fantastic hotel in the village of Castell d’Empordà. Accommodation with breakfast and a “Dali experience” dinner in hotel
Distance: 26km Today is a very easy day on the bicycle, as you pass beautiful medieval villages, olive groves, the nature reserve and the town of Torroella de Montgri. You will arrive at the seaside town of L’Escala, where you can enjoy the old town and the beaches.
Distance: 34km You cycle out of L’Escala via a cycle path along the sea and the Roman ruins of Empuries, a fantastic open-air museum. You continue to the fishing village of Sant Pere Pescador, where you can visit the wetlands of Aiguamolls, a beautiful nature reserve with plenty of birdlife. The country road continues to the stunning medieval town of Castellò d’Empuries, with its impressive church. A short distance away, lies the seaside town of Roses, where you will spend the night.
Distance: 20km In the morning, a water taxi will take you and your bicycles from Roses to Cadaques, one of Costa Brava’s most beautiful villages and home to Dali’s “Port Lligat” museum. After a 20 km cycle tour in the stunning Cap de Creus Nature Reserve, you will visit the museum and the town of Cadaques, where you can have a coffee in café L’Hostal, Dali’s favourite café.
Distance:38km In the morning, a transfer brings you and your bicycles to the seaside town of Roses. Here, you will start your easy cycle day into the countryside, with stunning views over the mountains and the wetlands of Empordà. You pass small villages until you reach the medieval town of Peralada, famous for its excellent wines. From here, it is only a short distance to Figueres, where you will visit the most famous Dali museum and enjoy a great Dali dinner in the historic hotel Duran.
Breakfast at the hotel and end of the journey. Option to book extra days or transfer to the airport.
